How to practise

  1. Start with major and minor, played together. Press Start and listen to the chord.
  2. Choose its quality. Your first answer is scored; Replay repeats the same question.
  3. Listen to the separate chord tones after the answer. Add triads, seventh chords and inversions as you go.

Questions

What does chord quality mean?

Quality describes the intervals within a chord, such as major, minor or diminished. The root may change while the quality stays the same.

Which chords can I practise?

The sets cover major, minor, diminished and augmented triads, plus major seventh, minor seventh, dominant seventh and half-diminished seventh chords.

What does Include inversions change?

The lowest note can be a chord tone other than the root. You still answer the chord quality. Afterward, the tool shows the root, inversion and sounding notes.

Do I need a microphone or an account?

No. You listen and choose a button. Session scores stay in this page and clear when you leave; no answers or audio are uploaded.
